Tim & Jill Hanson - Photographer/Artist
Like many craft-based businesses, Hanson Studio started in 1991 as a part-time interest and has grown into a full-time vocation for husband and wife, Tim and Jill. They offer Jill's fabric and paper marbeling greeting cards, and Tim's photographic greeting cards. Tim says, "I have always enjoyed creating visually pleasing objects, building on my experience as a woodworker and sculptor, where I created kaleidoscopes and music boxes from wood and glass." Tim's favorite pictures are those created by nature and only discovered by him, and enjoys most capturing the changes of the seasons. In 2003, one of Tim's photographs won an international award and was published in Photographer's Forum "Best of Photography Annual 2003". Jill explains that "marbling is done by dropping paint on a thick jelly-like material called 'size'. The paint spreads on the surface and as more drops are added, bands of color develop. The paint is then swirled using a variety of tools to create patterns and shapes. The place many people have seen marbled paper is on antique book end papers." Jill Hanson is a member of, has shown her work and taught at the Springfield, Vermont Arts and Historical Society. She and Tim work from their home studio in Charlestown, New Hampshire. Card size is 5"x7". JILL PORTFOLIO TIM PORTFOLIO <<< Back to Artists |
